April 25's 10 Things to Be Happy About
1. Sensory Pleasures - The taste that makes you just want to moan is wonderful. I also love when my mom rubs my arm and my back because the sense of it just makes my body feel so relaxed. The wonderful smells of a kitchen and spices wafting upstairs to my room.
2. Party Crashing - The only thing that comes to mind is the ultimate party crashers, WEDDING CRASHERS! I think that it is really funny and shows what we don't know about our weddings when they happen. How they managed to convince everyone that they were a part of the party still amazes me.
3. Getting New Ideas - This is always a wonderful feeling and I know that it makes me feel really good. For some reason my best ideas come to me as I'm trying to fall asleep and trying to shut my brain off. I try to write them down so that I don't forget them the next morning. I hate people who steal my awesome ideas though because they can't think of anything on their own.
4. Things That Come in Handy - You know all of those infomercials that tell you what you really need? Half of them are complete crap because the things they are advertising you have something like it that you already own. They just want to make money off of telling you that this is a better version of what you already have.
5. Gently Floodlit Trees - Estates usually have these and they are gorgeous. There is also a beautiful garden museum near my house that does light shows in the winter. In the Bahamas some places put them up on palm trees to show how colorful they are.
6. New Farm Equipment - I'm pretty sure that this would make any farmer happy when he needs things to keep his farm alive. Small farms are slowly being sold off and turned into developments which is truly depressing. Farm equipment is especially good if it is going with the technology of today's fast moving times.
7. Grinding the Pepper - Pepper is always better freshly ground rather than coming out of a previously grounded shaker. I like it much better that way for my eggs and anything else that I put pepper on.
8. Barefoot on the Grass - I hate shoes in general so whenever I can, I walk around without shoes. It feels especially good when the grass has just been cut. At home I love to go outside and play with the dog and walk around the property in bare feet because the grass just massages the bottoms of my feet!
9. An Off-the-Cuff Compliment - These are the best kind of compliments because they are the ones that people least expect and maybe you'll make their day a little brighter because you gave them a compliment on something small like the way their hair looks or the shoes that they are wearing.
10. Sloppy Joes for Lunch - I remember when they served these at Montgomery and I would immediately head for the salad bar. I honestly think that sloppy joes are completely disgusting. Sorry to anyone who likes them.
