Your Intuition

Today's 10 Things To Be Happy About

1. Sunday Porch Time - Considering we don't have any porch furniture...sitting on the porch involves sitting on the floor. I love sitting outside on my porch at home though. It's fun to have dinner out there on a cool summer's day.

2. A Wood Fire - I hate gas fire places. At my house we still burn wood and when we use the wood from our old apple trees it smells soooo good!

3. Hot Apple Soup - Never had it but it sounds like warm apple cider.

4. Wealth from Labor - People need to learn that in order to become wealthy they need to work hard and good things will come. They can't always complain about what they don't have but instead work for what they could have. Also they cannot slack off because if you work hard good things will come.

5. The Writer at Work - Do not disturb them or they might snap at you. Writers at work get very intense in what they are doing and normally the ideas are flowing so disturbing may help them to lose an idea.

6. Windy Darkness - Ok this does not make me happy, it just freaks me out. I hate windy nights because the wind whips around the house and I can hear it over my fan or noise maker.

7. Trolley's Clanging - Trolley's will always remind me of San Francisco and the Princess Diaries so they always make me smile.

8. Good Ol' Vaseline - Gross...do you know what men use this for!

9. The Wilderness of Intuition - You never know what you will think of.

10. Science for Lay People - ??? all i got!

A Garage Full of Stuff

10 Things to Be Happy About

1. Cartoons and Kids' Cereal - Both of these things are wonderful on a Saturday morning except kids cartoons stink now that I watch them and I'd rather watch Family Guy but that cartoon mixed with kids' cereal would be epic! I love cocoa puffs and captain crunch!

2. Connecting with the Earth - Because everyone should be somewhat connected to the natural world that exists around us and its many wonders.

3. Laughing at Yourself - More people need to learn how to do this because it would make people realize how dumb they are sometimes and then they would realize how funny their dumbness is. I know I laugh at myself when I say or do stupid things and it feels great when I do it.

4. Final Touches on a Party - The final touches are the ones that string everything together and make the party epic! Most parties are no good until you string all of the different parts of it together. I planned formal last year and when everything came together it was a lot of fun.

5. Replenishing Your Wish List - Everyone always has one for things that they want and filling it just makes you feel that much better.

6. Rodale's The Word Finder - I'm guessing this is a book of some sort but I've never heard of it so I can't say what it makes me feel.

7. A Garage Full of Stuff - This is a good thing until you have to clean it out and I wouldn't want to be the person cleaning out the garage if it's really messy. As long as I can find the things that I need out of the garage it's usually a pretty good thing.

8. Spotting Fish Through Clear Water - Being able to see fish in the ocean is a skill. Our captain can see the fish coming in and be able to tell what it is most of the time which amazes me. It makes me happy that I have been taught some of this skill and we can see things that are far out and know what they are.

9. Round Italian Playing Cards - Honestly I have no idea what these are unless they are playing cards that are literally round and I love playing any card game that I've been taught with an exception of poker. I've never liked it for some reason.

10. A Nice View from Your Bedroom - Waking up in the morning and looking at a beautiful view can make someone's day. I know that my mom looks at the sky out of her high windows and checks if it is a blue sky day. When I was younger she would hug me when it was a blue sky day and tell me. She still does it from time to time.

3. Topographical Maps - I had to make one of these in elementary school and it was so much fun to try something new. I really enjoyed making it because it was something new and different.

4. Michelin Tire Babies - Are these baby tires or something? Tires are having sex now...boy things have changed in recent years.

5. Dance Teams at Basketball Games - The only reason that this makes me happy because it's fun to watch guys ogle at the girls butts and boobs. It just makes laugh because the jaw drop is truly entertaining. Sometimes I could make Mike's jaw drop like that though.

6. Barbecued Spare Ribs - I'm not a big fan of ribs but I'm sure this is something that makes many people happy.

7. Chatting and Eating - Just as long as you don't talk with your mouth open I'm all set because as a child I got yelled at for doing it. Now I think that it's disgusting when people chew with their mouths open.

8. Fleecy Throws - These are wonderful to keep you warm.

9. Faded Blue Jeans - If you were jeans long enough they start to fade or you can leave them out in the sun for a couple of days. I think that this idea is better because it is more expensive to buy jeans that are prefaded.

10. Sticky-Note Reminders - I love these because they keep me from forgetting things that I really need to get done, especially papers that are due or any other form of homework.

Horses Breathing Out Steam

Today's 10 Things to Be Happy About

5. Clean Pillows - These are so much better than getting stuck with a dirty pillow!

6. User-Friendly Microwaves - I hate those microwaves that have too many buttons to count because they make it so much harder to figure out what you need to do. This is why user-friendly microwaves are a wonderful thing. I love the microwave at my house because everything is labeled well so I can figure out what option to use to cook whatever I'm trying to cook.

7. Hooves on Cobblestones - All I have to do is go to Williamsburg so that I can hear these throughout the historical town. Listening to this sound is better than hearing hooves on roads.

10. Horses Breathing Out Steam - It's just an artistically pretty picture or thought. It also reminds me of the Lord of the Rings with the evil horses of the ring hunters. I don't know, maybe I'm weird.

Late-Night Thoughts - These make me happy except when I forget them the next morning so if I think of something late at night I try to write it down so then I don't have to worry about forgetting it the next morning. You never know what you'll come up with but some of the best thoughts are right before you fall asleep.

6. Rubbing Your Hands Over a Crewcut - I love this feeling especially right after it's done because the hair is just soft!!!

7. Old-Fashioned Games - These are so much better than all of the games they come out with these days because all of them have some sort of technology involved in playing them. It's more fun to play a game that doesn't involve sitting in front of the tv or a computer screen.

8. Character-Building - It's always good to build on your character and who you are. There's something that I always want to fix about my character to make me a better person in the long run.

3. Raising Your Comfort Level - If one single person would do this then I would be happy because she is uncomfortable with almost everything. 4. A Sewing Machine Hard at Work - The sound of the machine slowly purring is relaxing. I love sewing even though I haven't had the time in recent years. I have sewn a few quilts and it's something that I would like to do again even though it takes a lot of time.

Hotel Stationary

10 Things to Be Happy About

1. Planetary Motion - If we weren't in motion we wouldn't have different season and we may be stuck in the same season all year round. 10. Photos of Dressed-Up Kids - It's so funny when kids play dress up. I found a really funny picture of my sister when we were younger dressed up in the most interesting outfit. The picture at the top is the one where she dressed up. Always a good day when Abigail dresses up like a dork :)

3. Chicago's Field Museum of Natural History - I think that every museum of natural history is interesting (or at least the ones I've been to) so why should this one be any different. A Lifetime's Not to Long To Live As Friends!

10 Things to Be Happy About

3. The Sounds of Ice and Snow Melting - They do make a weird noise especially when it's melting over some sort of body of water. It sounds eerie almost.

4. Having Two Pets - I can say that this makes me very happy as I do have to pets. I have a cat and dog and I miss them very much while I'm away at college because I have no one to pet when I'm sad. Also there is no one to come wake me up in the morning because they want food.

5. Setting a Balloon Free - While this isn't good for the environment it's pretty cool to watch it float away. It always reminds me of the song 99 Red Balloons.

6. A Stout Front Door - You should be happy with this especially if you have a burglar trying to knock in your door.

7. A Day With Friends - I know that I'm always happier after I've spent a day with friends instead of feeling like crap after a day of working. Temperature of Marble

10 Things to Be Happy About

1. Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - I don't know if I should be happy or not. It is truly an amazing place because of all of the history but at the same time the concept of all of the people who died there. I like history so I think I'll go with the fact that I like it there. I have not been there in seven years but the last time I went I really enjoyed the trip there and seeing some interesting things.

2. Lincoln Log Structures - These are just cool looking and I used to have a set of them to play with when I was little.

3. A President You Admired - I haven't really admired any of the presidents since I've been alive because they've all done some pretty stupid shit. Some of the older ones though that I've read about instead of having to hear about have truly amazed me in their abilities to change not only the U.S. but the world.

4. The Temperature of Marble - In the summer this might make me happy but in the winter it's just too cold. It's nice and cool in the summer while everything else is hot.

5. Waking Up to Snow - When you want a snow day it makes it that much better. I love just watching the snow and waking in it as it falls around you makes the world seem so peaceful and quiet. Winter is my favorite season, maybe it's because of my middle name (Winters) or maybe it's because I grew up loving to play in the snow.

6. Owning an Original Work of Art - While art is amazing I would be afraid to own an original work because of what could happen to it. It could be stolen or it could be vandalized. Having it would make me happy but it would also make me worry.

5. Florist Scents and Colors - A greenhouse always smells wonderful because of the many scents wafting towards you. I always loved going to pick up the boutonniere for my boyfriend in high school just so I could walk into the green house and smell all of the wonderful aromas.

6. Blender Milkshakes - These are honestly so much better than the crap you get from McDonalds. I love going to places like Milky Way Farm where they make the milkshakes by hand instead of pouring them out of a machine.

7. A Sunset in Rome - This I can say that I have seen and it is absolutely amazing and it was something I would watch over and over again. While there are lots of buildings surrounding you while you watch it, it is fun to watch the nightlife start below you as the sun sets.

Toothpicks...

10 Things to Be Happy About

6. Making Discoveries - This is one of my favorite things to do because when you find something new it's always fun to go back and either do it or visit it again. 3. Dreamcatchers and Suncatchers - Two completely different things but they both are cool to see. I have a dreamcatcher that is in my room that I made my first year at sleepaway camp. I think I lost it when we moved but I always thought it was cool because it had solar power that made the rainbows move around my room throughout the day.

4. Chili con Carne - A wonderful song that I sang with Dr. Moll in high school. I loved singing this song because it was hard but when we finished working on it, it sounded amazing. Peace is something this entire world needs to work on because I, along with many others, am sick of war!
